So far my collection of Stanley levels have been confined to the small metallic levels such as the No. 31, 41, machinist levels ( No. 38-1/2), the No. 36 metallic level, and finally the brass bound No. 95 and 96 levels. I have verified and extended a type study of the Stanley No. 41 Pocket Level previous given by Alvin Sellens in the March 1999 issue of the SWTCA Newsletter. The level was covered by a uniform thick coat of surface rust. This level was restored via
the electrolyis technique and the maker mark ( as shown below ) suddenly appeared.
